Kala Sarpa Dosha

Kala means time, and Sarpa means serpent. Kala Sarpa means ‘Serpent of Time.

Kala Sarpa Dosha

According to Vedic Astrology Rahu and Ketu represent the serpent. While Rahu is the head of the serpent, Ketu forms the body. When all planets, including Lagna, are placed within Rahu and Ketu, Kala Sarpa Dosha exists. It is also called Kala Sarpa Yoga. It is a powerful dosha and can nullify other good yogas in a natal chart.

Individuals pay for the karma of bad deeds of past life, and they suffer the impact in the current life. Once the phase is over, the natives begin to rise in life and reach a good position. But they will certainly go through lot of ups and downs in their life.

All the planets – the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu. This positioning or alignment of the cosmic bodies creates Kala Sarpa Dosha. Even if one planet is outside Rahu or Ketu’s axis, there will be no dosha existing.

Different cosmic alignments can give different outcomes. It is more often called as a Dosha because it mostly gives inauspicious result. When all the planets are within the Rahu-Ketu axis, they become ineffective and cannot give result as per their full potential. That is why it is often termed as Dosha rather than Yoga. But that does not mean everyone who is having this Yoga will suffer in their life.

There are Two types of Kala sarpa Yoga- if Rahu is placed 6 Rashi ahead of all the planet and Ketu is placed behind all the Planets, in Such cases this Yoga will not give Much trouble and difficulty

But if Ketu is 6 Rashi ahead of all the planets and Rahu is placed behind all the Planets. In Such Situation it gives inauspicious Result. When Rahu or Ketu Occupies Kendra the inauspicious result increases. When Rahu becomes debilitated and all the planets move towards its, the inauspicious result of this Yoga increases.
